Bjerknes Centre Forum for Early Career Scientists kick-off meeting
Inspired by the successful BCCR PhD forum, we are launching the Bjerknes Centre Forum for Early Career Scientists*! The goals of the forum are to provide skill building activities, encourage networking, and create opportunities to meet and socialize with colleagues at a similar career stage.
If you identify as an early career scientist at BCCR, please sign up for the new listserv (ECS@bjerknes.uib.no) by emailing Therese: therese.rieckh@uib.no.
We plan a kick-off meeting on Thursday April 7, 1-3 pm (location tbd), where you can get to know fellow early career scientists at Bjerknes and discuss your wishes and needs for this Forum. Which workshops or events would you like to see offered? Save the date – we’d love to see you there!
BCCR ECS representatives:
Therese Rieckh (therese.rieckh@uib.no), Polar
Damien Couespel (daco@norceresearch.no), Carbon
Natalya Gallo (natalya.gallo@uib.no), Hazards
Katrina Nilsson-Kerr (katrina.nilsson-kerr@uib.no), Global
*Who is an Early Career Scientist? Inspired by the EGU and AGU ECS definition, the BCCR ECS forum targets practicing scientists who received their PhD within the past recent years. The definition of recent is left to one’s personal opinion to promote inclusivity. For reference, EGU/AGU uses 7 years.
