«The Reuters Hot List» seeks to gather the top 1000 most influential researchers. The list uses three criteria basert on published articles, citations, and the Altmetric Attention – the latter an index using mentions in news articles, social media and sites like Wikipedia.
Among 13 researchers based in Norway are Noel Keenlyside, professor at the University of Bergen and the Bjerknes Centre, at 472nd, and Jerry F. Tjiputra, researchers at NORCE and the Bjerknes Centre, on 669th.
Both work with climate and ecosystem prediction – especially with the Norwegian Earth System Model, NorESM.
Jens Hesselbjerg Christensen, newly started in a additional position at NORCE and the Bjerknes Centre, in addition to his Professorate at the Niels Bohr Institute with the University of Copenhagen.
Keenlyside leads the Bjerknes Climate Prediction Unit (BCPU) and the Horizon 2020 project TRIATLAS, and Tjiputra works in a number of projects, like TRIATLAS, EarthClim and OceanNETs.
They are both connected to the proposed Centre of Excellence at the University of Bergen, the Centre for Advanced Prediction of Climate and Marine Ecosystems (CAPE).
