Nine Le Reun

I am a postdoctoral researcher within the Molecular Ecology and Paleogenomics group at NORCE, focusing on the dynamics of marine microbial communities. My research will explore patterns of biodiversity from surface to depth to identify the plankton communities that contribute most to carbon sequestration in the deep ocean. Specifically, I will investigate the biogeography of benthic microbial communities between two deep-sea trenches in the North Pacific using metabarcoding and metagenomic analyses of sediment samples.
